Research
I am an incoming 5th year PhD student (doctoral candidate) at the University of California, Merced advised by Dr. Jennifer L. Howell. My research examines the cognitive, emotional, and motivational components involved in the different ways that people protect how they think and feel about themselves and how these processes influence self-concept change and behavior, particularly in self-evaluative, interpersonal, and intergroup situations. In the long run, I aim to understand how people might efficiently use information about themselves (e.g., health, finances) to actively pursue a better life. You can read more about my work in a recent interview with the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
